Commission journal entry previewer

Enter one deal from your commission statement: the gross, the team lead's brokerage fees, each agent's split and any referral. See the balanced journal entry it makes in the team's books, line by line.

This is the team's journal, after the brokerage's cut: the team lead is the office, and the agents and referral partners are who it pays. Every figure is yours to enter; the page holds no brokerage's fees.

The deal One side per entry
The team's side

The team's side of the deal, as the statement prints it.

Optional. The name on the income and brokerage-fee lines.

Paid out of the commission. Leave blank if none.

Team lead's fees From the statement; leave blank if none

Money the brokerage gives back on this deal.

Agents' splits Up to 10

Each team agent's split as the statement prints it, not the agent's net check. On a Compass statement, enter the agent's net payout. The team lead's own share is not a row here: it stays with the office.

Referral fees paid Up to 5

Fees the team paid to another agent or brokerage for the referral.

Choose the side, enter the gross commission and each agent's split (or remove the empty row), and the journal entry appears here.

How the entry is built

The team books the whole gross commission as income and each payout as an expense, so the deposit is never mistaken for income. The team lead's share is not paid out: it is part of what the office keeps, which lands in Undeposited Funds and balances the entry. This page runs the same calculation Dealsplit uses to post a deal, with Dealsplit's default account names; in Dealsplit, each line posts to the account the team mapped in its own chart of accounts.
