When is the team split taken? After the brokerage is paid The agent's share is a percentage of what is left after the split, royalty and fees. Before the brokerage is paid The agent's share is a percentage of the gross; the team pays the brokerage from its share.

How it adds up

The brokerage split and the royalty are each a percentage of the gross, held to what is left of their own annual cap. Each percentage line is rounded to the cent, half up. The team's net is whatever is left, so it takes any rounding and the lines always add back to the gross.
